Creating Layers of Colour in Abstract Painting

Three new abstract paintings in acrylic to share. Each painting has multiple layers of color creating an impression of nature. Lush, is the largest of the grouping at 16 X 20 inches, inspired by wildflowers in the summer. Several shades of blue interact with purples and reds creating the abstract floral.

Crossed Lines is a mini abstract at 4 X 4 inches. It's a color study looking at the play between orange, red and purple, each color layered over the other, blending and blurring the lines.
Another mini painting, Rainy Night, plays with color and line and the movement those lines create.

While each new painting is quite different, they share the process of using a palette knife to mix and move the color around the surface, layering one color over the other until finally finding their shape.
