Sari Silk Hand Beaded Fiber Art Landscape

For this Fiber Art Quilt, Viewpoint, torn and frayed strips of Sari Silk made a colorful background for hand beading. It is part of an ongoing series, exploring silk fabrics, creative stitching and beads.

In the bottom right of this close up, a bit of embroidery original to the sari silk was preserved to add texture and color.
All types of beads were used in this piece, from tiny seed beads to larger round beads. Multiple types of finishes were included as well - frosted, matte, shiny and metallic beads.
Folded raw edges of fabric and frayed threads were enhanced by the bevy of beautiful beads in this abstract landscape, the newest piece in the ongoing Silk Threads Series.
